Description : | The photo shows three buildings surrounded by grass, a long picket fence, a four-rail fence and a copse of trees. One building is large and white with a central tower and corner turrets. It is made of stone. There is a square Victorian wood-frame house with central tower. There are bay windows on the lower floor, steps up to the front door, a porch over the front door area, and a widows walk on the top turret. The third is a four-storey wood frame building higher up the hill. It is L-shaped, with a hip roof and dormer windows. One part of the building has four storeys, the other three storeys |
Commentaires : | The buildings are 2nd College Hall, Chipman Hall, and the house of Professor Daniel M. Welton - 'Maplewood'. Maplewood was built in 1880 and demolished in 1968, 2nd College Hall was built in 1879 and burned in 1920, and Chipman House was built in 1875 and burned in 1914. |
