Description : This is a long white slip that would go under a christening gown. It has an empire syle bodice and a long skirt with a 9.5cm extention with 7 horizontal small pleats and a lace hem. The slip has a round neck,no sleeves and is self biased. Where the bodice and skirt are attached there is a 2cm band (plain). The back has two button closures.
Fonctions : This item was given to the museum by Ivan and Bertha Thomas (b. 1911). It belonged to either Bertha Sollows Thomas or her mother Mrs. Kenneth (Florence Sollows 1882-1971) of Port Maitland.
