| Description : | Mirror; metal, glass; rectangular shaped glass mirror inside a metal khaki green hinged case; attached to case reverse a pivot arm (8cm) with vertical hinge at allow varied movement. |
| Commentaires : | A small pocket-sized trench mirror was retailed for use by the British & American troops. The rectangular mirrors were attached to the end of the blades of the 1907, 1913 or M1917 bayonets, and could then be held over the parapet in order to view the terrain without exposing the viewer to enemy fire. This trench mirror was officially adopted in 1917, and continued in use into the Second World War. |
