Description : A white note card and small gelatin silver photograph which have been laminated by the museum to a piece of cardboard. The note card (10.8 cm x 27.7 cm) is handwritten in red pencil. The photograph (6.2 cm x 10.1 cm) shows the USNS General McMeigs. The cardboard (21.5 cm x 27.3 cm) and has the words, "U.S.N.S. General Mc.Meigs" written in black ink under the photo.
Commentaires : From James Watson collection. James Watson (March 31, 1931- November 20, 1951) was a gunner with the Royal Canadian Artillery, 2nd Regiment, Royal Canadian Horse Artillery (2 RCHA). He started his army career January 26, 1951 and served and died in Korea November 20, 1951. This note was written on board ship as they made their way to Korea. Sunny was James Watson's nickname.

Translittération de l'inscription : On note card : "Dear Mom & Dad / Just a few line to say / I'm having a wonderful time / we stopped off at Honolulu / and Wake Island for about / eight hours to refuel. This is the picture of the boat were / on. Its pretty rough here now / but I didnt get sea sick yet / got lots of cigs. We get them / for 75¢ a carton / So that aint bad. We can't send parcels or I would send dad six or / seven cartons. How is every body / I hope they are all well. / So long / Love / Sunny
