Description : | Teakettle & burner; brass, wood, steel; handle has wood painted black and is on hinges; brass lid is circular flush fit to kettle body, has wooden button finial with brass securing bolt; small short round brass body; small curved spout; three short legs attached at bottom; four brass knobs, two each side rest in stand in vines and flowers designed brackets, holds teakettle over burner; steel burner rests on three legs, short round hallow; burner insert in centre lifts out has lid on top that comes off with hole in centre. |
Commentaires : | Known as a spirit kettle with stand. It was named after the alcohol that was burned in the burner. These kettles were very common in England. This kettle is in a George I style. |
