Commentaires : | Seth Thomas was from Plymouth Hallow Connecticut, which was renamed Thomaston in his honour. He was born 1785 and died 1859. His company was a major manufacturer of clocks after 1840. They have the distinction of being one of the longest established clock makers in the United States as they have been producing clocks since 1813. After the stock market crash in 1929 the Seth Thomas Company was taken over by General time Instrument Company. The company still survives as a division of Talley Industries. |
