Commentaires : | Shoe fashion didn't change a whole lot from the 1850s to 1910. From the mid 1800s women took to wearing boots, mostly black, that covered their ankles. The black boot was favored by Queen Victoria (1819 to 1901), thus the fashion was whatever the Queen wore. The prim black boots of Queen Victoria's era did not fade away with her death in 1901; they continued with unabashed popularity for several more years. However, as hem lines in skirts started to rise and women showed more of their feet, the shoe became open and slim to show off the attractiveness of women's foot. This pair of wooden heeled shoe is a good example of the new shoe fashion women started to wear around 1910. Reference:http://www.centuryinshoes.com/decades/1900/1900.html |
