Commentaires : The AGA Dalen Gas Mixer was invented by Gustaf Dalen in 1909. He was a Swedish engineer and inventor and president of the AGA Group Company. They were leaders in lighthouse technology and the acetylene gas works. In 1912 Gustaf Dalen was awarded the Nobel Prize for Physics for his inventions used in lighthouse. His many lighthouse related inventions made them safer, easier and cheaper to operate, thus making it safer for those sailing the seas. The gas mixer worked by providing a mixture of air and acetylene to keep a mantle burning incandescently with strong light. With pressure from the acetylene as sole source of energy the mixer can power a rotating lens system. It gave a strong light and burned less fuel then previous lighthouse systems. www.aga.com
