Description : Large nickel plated jug is very elaborately decorated. Hand painted scene shows a gold and blue humming bird perched on a brown twig. Green, brown, and gold colored eucalyptus leafs, blue grass and white and green colored lilies surround the jug. Blue water and blue sky are background. Some lilies are set in the water. The large handle is decorated at the top with an open mouthed fish and a floral pattern with swirls on the rest of the handle. Around the base and top are sphinx, pyramids, camels, serpents, palm trees and birds. The spout is an open mouth fish and lilies are displayed below the spout in the fancy embellishment. Both sides of the jug are decorated with a silver tower with a star design at the top. The jug has a circular base with a hinged lid with a raised handle on top. Pitcher may be tipped in its holding stand to pour. It is suspended on a fitting on the frame and rocks freely to and fro. Stand is surrounded with three round platforms to accommodate three cups or glasses, one at the front and two at the back. Silver stand base is decorated with a floral pattern with a plain circle in centre. The sides are adorned with two naked mythological Gods with a snake entwined on the arm. The square base has an Egyptian theme to match the jug. The sides are adorned with six long stemmed flowers which give the appearance of a gated entrance. The top of the stand has a curved handle and a woman's face with long braids is displayed on both sides of the handle. A rod goes through the centre of the heads with draping falling off to the sides of the handle. The stand is highly ornamented throughout. The handle screws on and off.
