Description : | White quilt with large red 'snowflakes'. Appears to be a version of the "Feathered Star" pattern. Snowflakes are comprised of many triangular and diamond-shaped pieces of red fabric pieced together with white fabric to give an eight-pointed appearance. There are 16 snowflakes arranged in a 4 over 4 array of panels. One edge is unstitched. Much of the red fabric is worn considerably more than the white, presumably a result of the dye used and washing. The quilting is very fine and holds the layers together tightly. |
Commentaires : | The research did not result in the identification of this pattern. It appears that it may just be a variation of an eight-pointed star pattern. |
