| Description: | The quilt is made from cotton material on top and wool on the back. The cotton material is in squares and is of different colours. Some of the colours are blue, white, brown and yellow of different shades. Some squares are patterned and some are solid colours. It has been quilted in lines crossing over forming diamond shape, 'crosshatching' stitching pattern. Quilted in white thread. Backing of a beige, woollen blanket that has a large patch that was inserted before it was quilted. |
| Narrative: | A utilitarian quilt that would have been made for the warmth rather than the decorative pattern. Approximately 90 years old at the time of donation, therefore made in the 1880s. |
