| Description : | Bird is a male in breeding plumage. Head is grey hooded with a softer grey on the cheeks. Eye is black, bill is prominent and orange on top and red below. Breast and upper back are white, most of the body is black, with white wing feathers and underside near feet. Feed are yellow with black claws. |
| Commentaires : | The king eider is a large sea duck that breeds along the Northern Hemisphere Arctic coasts of northeast Europe, North America and Asia. Rare along the New Brunswick coast, Grand Manan is on its migratory pathway. This male king eider in breeding plummage was shot on February 23, 2018, by a local Fisheries Officer during duck hunting season, near Outer Wood Island in the Grand Manan archipelago. |
