| Description : | Pierced tin lantern or stable lantern. Small carrying ring on top - four cm diameter. Door attached by riveted hinge, all joints soldered. |
| Commentaires : | It is American tin lantern, about 1825. In the early 19 century, the lanterns cast wonderful light patterns on the walls of parlours and porches while protecting the candle flame from wind. The reproduction is blackened steel. Height is 15 1/2" and sells for $35.00. This one was used by the Baptist Minister on his sleigh or carriage in Lower Kars. Harvey Dalling provided this information. |
