| Narrative: | As Canada's first national infrastructure project, the Intercolonial Railway connected Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Quebec, and Ontario in a way they had never been joined before. It operated between 1872 and 1918. |
| History of Use: | This menu would have been provided to Intercolonial Railway passengers in the dining car around the time of New Year's Day in 1905. It allowed them to select their dinner courses. The menu reads, "Wishing You a Happy New Year, 1905." It lists the foods that are available for dinner. The price of the dinner is 75 cents. There is also a small notice asking the patrons to report any inefficiency to L.B. Archibald, Superintendent Parlor, Sleeping, and Dining Cars. There is also a notice indicating a copy of this menu will be mailed upon requesting the Dining Car Conductor. |
