| History of Use: | This was used as a dental mallet at Hub Dental Laboratory in Moncton. The mallet would have been utilized to drive nails, fillings, and screws into bones, or possibly in the dissection and resection of bones, in association with primarily the osteotome and chisel. Mallets typically have a head made of a material softer than steel, hence why a cow horn was used. |
