Description : SCREWDRIVER - Small screwdriver, brass ferrule, wooden handle. Possibly 'Gentleman's or 'Ladies' pattern. Blade is 6.3cm long. Squared at tang end for 1.5cm and is 0.4cm thick. 'O & S L' encircled in an oval, is imprinted on one side of the squared off tang and becomes round for 1.5cm. It them begins to taper towards the edge which is inserted in the slot in the screw head. The corners of the edge are cut away forming the edge which is 0.4cm wide. The ferrule is brass and cylindrical in shape. The blade fits into two small indentations opposite each other on the ferrule. The handle of the screw driver is 6.3cm long. For 2.2cm from the ferrule towards the heel, the handle is cylindrical in shape except for a slight increase in diameter towards the heel. Two lines are engraved around the end of this section of the handle , 0.2cm apart. Over the next 1.5cm the handle narrows to form the neck then enlarges into the last section. The last section is flat on two, faces and rounded on the others. The heel of the handle is also rounded. '14' is printed on one of the flat faces, of the handle, in red ink, possibly felt pend. The wood is chipped in the first and ;last sections of the handle.; Metal, Brass; Metal, Steel; width 2.8 cm; length 13.9 cm
