Description : | Self-contained, two-sided outdoor neon sign; sheet metal body composed of rectangular top section over another rectangular form with ends shaped like the end of an arrow; under this is a large circular form with a ray-like shape attached at the bottom; top and bottom sections painted brown with "Ray" painted in the top section and "Stereo Components" in the bottom in yellow; the circular section painted orange with "TV" painted in white with brown outlines and outlined in glass tubing; "Ray" underlined by blue painted stripe and glass tubing; some tubing broken or missing; covered access opening in top; transformer presumed wired inside; cast iron hanging brackets attached to one side; sticker on one side reads "Nepro Neon Products Ltd." "TV" glows con red; line above glows blue. |
Fonctions : | According to directory research, Ray TV & Hi-Fi Sales was established in 1957 at 3528 East Hastings Street, Vancouver, proprietors W. Bury and G. Zellmer. In 1965 the business was located at 4053 East Hastings Street, W. Bury only proprietor. The business appears to have closed between 1970 and 1975. The sign was probably leased by Neon Products Ltd. although it does not appear to bear their sticker.
