Artist/Maker: Originally owned by Hamilton Lyons (died 1945), grandfather of donor, who had farm on Mississauga Road. Donor thinks mittens acquired 1870's.

Description: One pair of winter work mitts. Racoon fur on outside with leather on inside palm and finger area. Lined with green felt.
History of Use: Used by donor's grandfather, Hamilton Lyons. A dairy farmer, he wore the mittens when he delivered milk by wagon to the train stop three miles away in winter.
