Description : | B/W photograph of a group of forty-one employees of the Collingwood Furniture Company. Subjects are standing and sitting on the wooden stairs and landing of the Collingwood Furniture Company factory building. A boy is standing on the ground in front of the landing, leaning on a bicycle. There are several bicycles on the ground underneath the landing. Written in black ink on top right of the image: "Employees of Collingwood - Furniture Co in (crossed out letter) about 1900". |
Commentaires : | The Collingwood Furniture Company was located on the northwest corner of Maple Street and Manitou Street. The factory sat empty at the beginning of World War I. Boxes for the munitions shells being made in the Shipyards were stored here throughout the war. |
