| Description : | B/W photograph of an ice cart. Pictured are two bearded men, one seated on a cart with the reins of a horse in his hand and the other leaning against the buggy wheel, holding ice tongs with a block of ice in front of him on the ground. Printed on the cover of the buggy: "Wm Swain. - Ice Dealer". The cart is hitched to the back of a horse. The cart is located at an intersection off Hurontario Street. The cart is situated in front of a store housed in a white clapboard building. A sign attached to the porch roof reads: "Archer & Fluent's Feed". In the background, on Hurontario Street, a sign on top of a store reads: "The Leading Bakery - Telfer Bros." Written on reverse in pencil: "Swain - 45". |
