Fred talks about his father and what he meant to him and things he did for hockey in Nova Scotia.03:42 06:45 - Fred talks about the Halifax Junior league and how they had no teams to play so they would pay for teams from other leagues to come play them. He talks about some of the star junior Canadian players back then.06:45 - 08:50 - Fred talks about the junior league in the Maritimes and they wanted to build more of a league that had teams that could compete in the QMJHL. Fred talks about his dad and how he thought Halifax would be a great host city for a team like that.08:50 Break- On Screen: Fred MacGillivray and his father are both members of the NS Sport Hall of Fame. Both inducted in the builder category.09:20 12:30 - Fred became President and CEO of Trade Centre Limited in 1994. Fred talks about how the community got to know the players who were going to be the Mooseheads, so the community knew them which created a great affiliation with the community and the team. Talks about how loyal the Halifax fans are and how much the children enjoy it.12:30 -16:00  - Fred talks about when we hosted the G7 conference, the city supported it and so did the country, he said if we can do that in little old Halifax, we can do anything with regards to sports. He wanted to grow Halifax for not only hockey but other sports as well. The slogan for the world Jrs was Were Ready. He also talks about how they had to pre- sale tickets to prove that they could do it.16:00 16:55 - He keeps plaques of all the records to remind him that when you have good leadership and good strong people around you, you can achieve amazing things, and Halifax did it in those days.16:55 Break- on Screen: Fred MacGillivray was chair of the Board of the NS Sport Hall of Fame for nine years. He was instrumental in the Halls move to Scotiabank Centre in 2005.17:30 19:50 - Fred talks about the biggest key to good leadership, has confidence, intelligence, and the will and to take the time and step forward to say we can do this.19:50 22:20 - Bruce asks about the CFL team for Halifax, and Fred says that they want to be in Halifax, and that the people in the community want a team here as well, but the government has to help but not for all of it. Fred believes that Halifax needs a stadium, especially because there is no stadium in Atlantic Canada.  22:20 23:45- Failed commonwealth games- Fred talks about the 2014 games that Halifax was going to host and how it was very unfortunate and how Halifax has built a bad reputation from that.23:45 End Fred talks about where he is now and how he does lots of volunteering and community work, sits on a lot of boards and has recently joined the North End Health committee. Closing remarks.
