Description : | A black and white photograph of Lillian Armstrong, R.N., in her nursing uniform. She is sitting, reading in a chair, next to the fireplace in the parlour inside Ireland House. The fireplace is boarded over, and the mantle is covered with fabric. Behind Nurse Armstrong, there is a large stand with a large pot of flowers. On the mantle are various knick knacks and a clock. In front of the fireplace is another large stand, with a small pot or vase on top. There appears to be a carpet on the floor made from the hide of a spotted animal (possibly a cheetah?) On either side of the fireplace are the built in cupboards with the existing marbled faux finish. |
Fonctions : | Nurse Lillian Armstrong was the live-in nurse for Maud Ireland Porter, one of the 12 children born to John and Eliza Ireland. Nurse Armstrong was also a friend of the family. |
