| Description : | Dress (200.9.3) Scoop neckline - front and back. The front dress has three gores ending at the busy, and [...] out to each side panel. The back consists of two long panels with a zipper. The lining is a pale blue rayon (silk?) The dress design is an all over 'Japanese' [...] at [...] in [...] of blue - embroidered. Jacket (2000.9.4) sleeves - plain. It has a tailored collar with lapels and three covered buttons with button holes. Side darts and darts on [...] shoulders in the back. Centre back seam in the collar - [...] plain jacket. |
| Commentaires : | Dress was purchased at Woods Bros, Halifax (Barrington Street) in early 1950s. It was bought by Diana's parents, the Mitchells, for her. Diana wore it to many navy functions. Norman Jackson now retired from Navy. He lives in Northwood Manor of Halifax. Diana has MS. Diana and Norman had lived in Grand Pre since 1970s up to ca. 1998. |
