Backing is made of a black stretchy knit fabric. Inside there is a band of stiffened taffeta which is 3/4 inch at the centre back and goes to 1 1/2 inches at centre front. The hat is not lined. There is a cardboard inset in the front. The outside of the hat is trimmed all over with large black sequins. Attachment hole is at outer edge.
