Description : A hand painted, watercolour Christmas card. The front has an image of Santa, a goose and a plum pudding. The plum pudding has legs, arms and a face. The duck is holding something black. The card is folded and inside is a handwritten message that reads: 'Dear Dad - I wish you a very marry Christmas. With love from Geoffrey
Fonctions : Homemade Christmas was made by Geoffrey Sayers to his dad, Beverly Sayers, ca. 1917. Geoffrey (1907-1997) was the eldest child of Annie Harris and Beverly Draper Sayers of Clarkson. He lived in near his grandparents home 'Benares' and attended Toronto Township School No. 6, he would later attend the University of Toronto School during the 1920s. Annie Louise and Beverley Chares Draper Sayers married in Clarkson in 1906; together they had three children. The two later divorced during the 1920s and Annie remained living in Clarkson with her children.
