Description : A black and white photograph of a seated baby ( Barbara Anne Sayers) in a light coloured dress. The baby has bare feet and dark curly hair. On the back written in black pen is "Barbara Anne Sayers, circa 1920".
Fonctions : Barbara Anne Sayers was born January 27th, 1920 to parents Annie Harris and Beverly Sayers. She grew up in Clarkson and was a frequent visitor to her grandparent's home Benares. Barbara had a sweet sixteen party at Benares in 1936 and went on an educational tour of Europe in 1938. She married Melville Gooderham in 1939 and they had two children, Geoffrey and Christine. In 1969 Barbara and her two siblings donated Benares Historic house to the Ontario Heritage Trust. It became a museum in 1995 and ownership was transfered to the City of Mississauga in 2000. Barbara married her third husband, Ed Larson, in 1973. In 2003 Barbara moved to Kelowna, B.C. from Clarkson to live with her daughter. In 2010 she celebrated her 90th birthday at Benares Historic House. Barbara continues to be a strong supporter of the Museums of Mississauga.
