Description: | A one page handwritten letter in ink from great-aunt Lucy Harris to her nephew Geoffrey Harris. Lucy follows up with Geoffrey regarding a recent illness that appears to have been quite serious. She invites him to come visit her and for him to take care. |
History of Use: | >Lucy Letitia Harris (1844-1925) was the third eldest daughter of Captain James Beveridge Harris and Elizabeth Molony and was sister to Arthur Harris. Lucy, along with Bessie lived at Benares until 1888 when they received a series of inheritances that allowed them to buy a house in a fashionable neighbourhood in Toronto. They were known as the Harris Aunts and enjoyed collecting antiques and various curiosities. They resided at a home located at 71 St. George Street and later lived on Huron Street. |
