Description : | This artefact is a German made earthen wear canister for food storage. The canister is cylindrical in shape with a flared opening. It is glazed white and decorated in a blue floral pattern. The center of the canister has the word "Graupen," stencilled on it in black paint. The makers mark on the bottom of the canister consists of a bird of prey with wings spread wide atop a banner that reads "H & Ch, Kolmer I.P. |
Commentaires : | This Canister is thought to have been in the Andersen family's possession for quite some time. The maker's mark indicates that it was made by a company called Kolmer, which is in an area of Germany known as Silesia. |
