| Description : | Birchbark canoe, dated using canoe's nails which are square-cut with a tapered shank - typical of the factory die collars used between 1880 and 1910. Definitely Ojibwa. Stemline is hewn from one piece of hemlock. Planking very well done ("overlap" or "western" style). |
| Commentaires : | Dating and information provided by Rick Nash, canoe builder and restoration expert. Probably constructed North of Sudbury, possibly the St. Mary's or Sault Ste. Marie area. |
