Description : The plumb bob is a tear-drop shaped piece of lead. A hole is drilled near the top, tied to which is a piece of string.
Commentaires : Throughout the twentieth century, the community of Winterton was renowned for its boatbuilding. Boats were constructed using local timber and hand tools. Plumb bobs such as this were used to check a boat's balance and alignment and were made from heavy metal " usually lead.
