| Description : | The artifact consists of a block of wood with the centre carved out for the blade of the plane. There is a wooden handle attached to the apparatus with a nail. |
| Commentaires : | This artifact would have been used to smooth the surface of planks used on the hulls of sea going vessels. The plane would be placed on the surface of the wood and pulled along, pulling off the top layer of wood leaving a smooth surface underneath. |
