| Description : | The artifact is a metal, silver coloured iron with a wooden handle protruding from the top. The handle is connected with a bolt and rivet which goes through the length of the base of the iron. |
| Commentaires : | This iron would have been placed directly on a hot stove or even directly on hot coals to be heated. Once it reached the desired temperature, it would be removed and pressed onto clothing to flatten wrinkles in fabrics. The iron is made of cast iron which conducts heat very well and is heavy enough to flatten wrinkles easily. |
