The first Earth Magnetic Anomaly Grid maps magnetic ñpeculiaritiesî near the EarthÍs surface. Younger crust is typically thinner, with little magnetic minerals while older crust tends to be thicker and richer in magnetism. This map was a product of an international scientific grant effort and took five years to compile and collate the data. |
