Commentaires : | Baskets were made in many forms, each having a specific function, and were purchased or bartered from travelling families of basket makers, from country craftsmen, or in small towns that housed a population of basket makers. Many general purpose baskets were also produced throughout the 19th century. By 1900, though, machines and mass production ended the era of basket making.
