Description : A brown leather pouch extending in width towards the bottom with the metal crest of the 8th Queen's Canadian Hussars, the roman numeral "VIII" with Queen Victoria's crown with a fox on each side.
Commentaires : Donated by the Association of the 8th Canadian Hussars and prominently on display at 8CH RHQ in Moncton. This was the Regimental Sabretache from 1880-1884, for the Queen's Canadian Hussars. In 1884, Princess Louise gave her name to the Regiment and her coronet replaced the crown on the insignia.
Fonctions : Used by Hussars to carry important documents because their uniforms lacked pockets. These were also used for ceremonial purposes as an aesthetic component.
