Description : This is a small wooden box, that was carved from a single piece of wood in the shape of a book. It is hollowed out with sliding "doors" at the top and at the bottom. A design (with 5 circles and diamonds) is hand-carved on the front and back. Four of the circles are painted green with a red diamond shaped carving in the center. The middle circle is red with a green diamond. Two rows of green diamonds are carved above and under the middle circle. It is varnished.
Commentaires : The spruce trees give off a gum which is tasty, sticky, and can be chewed. Mont White gave the box to Gerry Elhatton "years ago".
Fonctions : This box held spruce gum.
