Description : The object is a buck saw with a large blade with multiple teeth running along its midriff. The teeth are evenly spaces along the breadth of the blade. The object has three wooden planks that are perpendicularly placed to support the superstructure of the saw. The object has a metal suspension piece that runs parallel to the saw blade, designed to increase or decrease the size of the saw blade in relations to the object being severed.
Commentaires : This object came from the tool chest of Mert Carroll, who worked on Beaubears Island during the late 19C on shipbuilding, carpentry, and logging.
Fonctions : The object was used for cutting down small trees or branches in the production of timber for various purposes; from shipbuilding to houses for the employees on the Island.
