Brown jug with a circular base and one right angle handle. Tapers at the top ending in a circular opening with no stopper. Handle has ridges.

Item from the last schooner out from East Chezzetcook - the Eliza C built in 1896. It was built by Dennis Conrod and he was the managing owner. It was sold to Captain Dennis Richards and known as a coasting schooner. The last run of the schooner was in 1929 and it was later condemned. Item donated by Dennis Richards' granddaughter.

Around this time, almost all food preparation was left to the women of the house. People have been storing food for centuries, upgrading from simply storing things in bark or in holes to putting food and food stuffs in jugs such as this one.
