Description : Drum with wooden frame, painted royal blue on exterior. White skin sides are imprinted in blue with "Royal Canadian Army/Cadet Band/Aurora District High School". One side is stamped "Amrawco calf Standard".23 threaded grips for tuning. Fragment of label adheres to interior of cylinder: includes words "banjos" and "factory" and word ending "...ourn". "1866" painted on interior in same blue as exterior finish.
Fonctions : Drum said to have been first used by No. 2 company, Aurora, of 12th York Rangers when they traveled to Niagara at the time of the Fenian Raids in 1866. Sides and clasps are modern; drum was originally roped, and filled holes are visible.
