Description : The hand barrow is similar looking to a stretcher. It is made of two long wooden poles on each of the outer ends that are used as handles. There are 8 smaller pieces of wood that are placed in line next to the handles and kept in place by three braces running perpendicular to these wood pieces. The barrow can then be used like a stretcher to carry fish or other goods.
Commentaires : A hand barrow is a flat rectangular tray or cart with carrying poles at each end, used in transporting loads. In the province of Newfoundland, the handbarrow was commonly used to move salt fish.
