| Description : | In 1847, The Albion, or, British, Colonial, and Foreign Weekly Gazette re-issued Sadd's engraving of Victoria "in her Royal Robes of State", painted by Alfred E Chalon in July 1837 after her first official appearance as queen. Nathaniel Currier, a publisher of "Cheap and Popular Prints" in New York, took the figure of the queen from the Albion print, and placed her against an open window with a view of Windsor Castle to create his lithograph. |
