Description : Circa: 1856. A hand-coloured steel engraving. The picture is of three females dressed in long dresses. The first lady is in pink and black, the second in brown and green and the third (a girl) in blue and black. The first and third are seated, the second standing. There rest of the picture in black and white is the interior (probably living room) of a house. 'Anais - oudouge', Sarajin Tmp. N. Git le Coeur 8, paris', '25 Septembre 1856' and 'T Derjau' are written in black along the bottom of the picture. 'MAGASIN DES DEMOISELLES' is the title of this picture, in shadow block letters, below the picture, below this is '10 Francs par an paris 12 francs par an Dept.' Below all in black writing are four coloumns of French words. The first coloumn says 'Aquarelles Sepair Musique', the 2nd 'Gravures sur acier', the 3rd 'Broderien Patrons Crochet', and the 4th 'Filet Tricot Reibus'. The frame is a strip of gold, then painted white. The back is brown paper covered, it has 2 metal rings holding a length of metal wire to hang the picture up. Length 34.9 cm and width 24.8 cm.
