| Description : | This dark wood stock has ends shaped and cut away giving it a winged appearance. There is a wedge of triangular shape cut out of the centre of the stock into which the cutter fits. At each end of the cutter is a tapered tang, these go through the tapered holes in the body to secure the cutter. The sole is flat fronted and there are two holes which would screw a brass plate in front of thecutter to resist wear. The brass fittings and the cutter are all missing. The wood is cracked around the holes. |
