| Description : | Pre 1887. This is a hand tinted engraving, the above measurements include the mat, the window is 18.4cm x 24.5cm. On the centre of the border at the top is 'FOR BRITTON'S PICTURESQUE ANTIQUITIES OF ENGLISH CITIES'. The title 'ARCH WAY ERPINGHAM GATEHOUSE NORWICH' is bottom centre. The left bottom corner has 'D. HODGSON, JUN DEL' printed in the right corner 'ENGRAVED BY J. LE KEUX'. Beneath the title is printed 'TO THOMAS AMYOT ESQ TREASURER OF THE SOCIETY OF ANTIQUARITIES THIS PLATE IS ENSCRIBED WITH SENTIMENTS OF FRIENDSHIP BYTHE AUTHOR' and directly beneath this 'LONDON PUBLISHED FEB 1 1830 BY LONGMAN AND CO PATERNOSTER ROW'. The mat is slightly faded. |
