| Description : | A cylindrically shaped colourless soda-lime (soda) glass three-piece metal mould (moulded glassware) bottle. On the undersurface of the artifact's base 'DELAVAL' appears in embossed lettering. From the rounded heel area, the side portion of the artifact rises vertically to a champagne shoulder area. From here a circular neck extends up to a rounded lip which has a circular bore. On the side of the item, 'TO BE WASHED AND RETURNED' appears in embossed lettering within a circular incision. The bottle's interior has been covered with a coat of white paint. Note: Colourless glass requires silica (sand) which is almost free of iron, and both a flux and a stabilizer without noticeable impurities. PH1 2006 |
