Description : A rectangularly shaped black and white drawing and its frame. The visible portion of the drawing has a width of 39.6 cm, and a height of 54.3cm. Upon it is the representation of two women in near eastern dress who are shown embracing beside a well. To the rear of the women respectively appear a woman who is carrying a water pitcher on her head, and (in the distance) a white building amongst some palm trees. Beneath the two embracing women 'Orpah parting from Ruth & Naomi' appears in black print letters. The drawing is held in place through the use of a fresh coloured cardboard-like border. Artifact 1986.1019.1.B is a rectangularly shaped dark brown wooden frame. It has a width of 67.4 cm, and a height of 82.7 cm. the frame has an inner portion which has been gilt. Due to the uniqueness of the item, no specific literary referenced were able to be found. Dated by overall appearance per discussions with Ron Candy.
