A large rectangular shaped dark amber coloured bottle with rounded corners a bead lip finish and a cork closure. Mold seams start from a cup mold seam and rise vertically to half way up the neck. They are located diagonally across from each other right to left. A tan coloured paper label covers the front and two sides of the bottle and reads in black lettering 'MALTINE WITH PHOSPHATE OF IRON QUINIA AND STRYCHNIA', 'AWARDED TEN GOLD MEDALS', 'PREPARED BY THE MALTINE MFG CO R.L. GIBSON TORONTO ONT.' At the very bottom of the label on the right side it reads in small printing 'NEW LABEL ADOPTED JULY 1898'. Above this it gives a list of maltine preparations. The part of the label on the left side of the bottle gives a description of maltine and the recomended dose. Embossed on the back of the bottle are the words 'THE MALTINE MFG CO CHEMISTS NEW YORK'. At the centre of the base of the bottle is a shallow circular push up centre with the embossed number '1466'. PH1 2006 PH3 2008
