| Description : | Postcard showing 2nd and 3rd Avenues in Prince Rupert, BC in the early days. The avenues are two boardwalks, there are a few wooden buildings (houses) present. The land has probably been recently cleared and is full of stumps. The ocean is in the background. The postmark is December 6, 1909, Victoria, BC and the card was mailed to Fred J. Tregillus Esq. Of Barkerville, BC. Message reads:'Just a line to wish you all a very happy Xmas & New Year & to let you know that Old friends are not forgotten. I hope your wife & Alf are both well & that you have had a good season. Remember me to all with very best wishes. Claude (?) Matthews'. A note on the front of the postcard reads: 'The tent was our home last winter'. |
