| Description : | Small black shaded to light brown. Black knobs on head. Circle hole under the strings. Arched back. Hollow base has a circular sound hole near the top, a metal saddle attached to the bottom, and a wooden bridge in the middle. The wooden neck or fretboard has 19 frets, topped by the neck bridge and headstock. The six strings are attached to six holes in the fan-shaped top of the saddle, strung up through six slots in the wooden bridge, up the fretboard, over the neck bridge, and wound around the six tuning pegs. The guitar base and sounding hole are edged with off-white plastic piping. |
| Commentaires : | Called a Starburst, 6-string acoustic guitar. M. Pearson Jewett (1925-2000) passed on to Elbridge Jewett who later returned it to Pearson's sons Jamie and Richard, When Jamie became terminally ill he gave it back to cousin Elbridge and asked him to take care of it. Pearson may have bought it in Fredericton, New Brunswick or through Eaton's catalogue. M. Pearson Jewett played around Jewett's Mills at events including the community hall in Keswick Ridge, New Brunswick along with other community musicians. In Elbridge's custody, he played it in the local school and many community events. This is a Jewett family guitar. Person, his sons James and Richard, and his nephew Elbridge all learned how to play music on this guitar. The stamp "S-37" indicates this guitar was made in the spring of 1937. |

| Étiquette ou poinçon : | The headstock reads "MELODY KING" with "Melody" horizontal across the top and "King" vertical underneath, centered between the three black tuning pegs on each side of the headstock. Below "King" is a decorative sword-shaped insignia, with three small dots below that in the same paint as the letters. There are stencil-tupe paint markings on the fretboard, one at fret 12, and two small ones at fret 15. Through the sound hole can be found a small discreet oval stamp with "S-37" inside. |
