Description : | A white long sleeve cotton baptismal gown with white decorative cotton lace edging on the collar, sleeves and hemline. The dress has a decorative bib with cotton vertical trimming and pierced holes with a cotton lace trim. |
Fonctions : | This baptismal gown belonged to either Helen Chase (nee Wostell) or her brother Harry Wostell. They were the first Caucasian twins born in Atlin, B.C. on July 28, 1902. The gown was made by their mother, Hattie Wostell, who came north in 1898 along with her husband Frank during the Gold Rush. |
